Who says seaside towns are only for summer? Puglia in winter is a well-kept secret, and trust us, we were just as surprised as you might be.
This summer, when we threw open the doors to our BnB in Puglia, we were swept up in the excitement of endless sun, a bustling foreshore, and, well, you. We were humbled (and thrilled) to be full almost immediately – so full, in fact, that some of those “finishing touches” we’d planned? Let’s just say they patiently waited their turn.
Now, as winter has brought a slower pace, we’ve finally had time to add the final details that the summer didn’t allow. The missing picture frame? Hung. That charming little reading nook we envisioned? Ready and waiting. It’s been a rewarding transition, not just for the space, but for us too.
Here’s what we didn’t expect: our seaside accommodation in Puglia is just as enchanting in winter, in a completely different way. Gone are the summer crowds, replaced by a sense of real tranquillity – the kind where you hear waves gently lapping against the shore and the occasional seagull singing a solo. We’re genuinely enjoying the quieter, cosier version of this place – something we think you’ll love, too.
Recent guests have been equally (and pleasantly) surprised. Between brisk walks along the quiet rocky foreshore, warm local cuisine in nearby trattorias, and evenings curled up with a book (and perhaps a glass of Primitivo), there’s a lot to love about a seaside getaway during the quieter months.
So, as we look ahead to the new year, we’re embracing the seasons in full – finishing touches, cosy charm, and all. If you’re someone who appreciates a little off-the-beaten-path magic, this might just be your sign to visit Puglia in winter. It’s different, it’s delightful, and it might surprise you as much as it surprised us.
